I don’t usually blog about a restaurant that I’ve visited that quickly for the simple reason that my posting is not time-sensitive. However, it’s different this time. My dinner experience at Cassia last night was so fantastic that I strongly urge you to take advantage of the promotion before Restaurant Week ends this Sunday.

Quick try it before Restaurant Week ends – Cassia Capella Singapore

Crispy Eggplant with Cereal, Roasted Duck with Mango and Lemon Sauce, and Chilled Chicken Roll with Dangui
The Restaurant Week Exclusive Dinner Menu at Cassia is a five-course dinner. The appetiser consists of Crispy Eggplant with Cereal, Roasted Duck with Mango and Lemon Sauce, and Chilled Chicken Roll with Dangui. I’m not a huge fan of eggplant or duck. But the crispy eggplant with cereal is so well prepared that I actually like the taste. The eggplant has a crispy surface and soft interior. The duck is tender and juicy. Most importantly, the lemon sauce complements the meat so well as it has a rather refreshing aftertaste. The appetiser whetted my appetite and made me hungry for more.

Hot & Sour Soup with chicken with prawn won tons
The hot and sour soup is a common item in most Chinese restaurants. Cassia’s version has a nice consistency (not too thick) and full of quality ingredients such as prawns and scallops. It is served with two pieces of chicken with prawn won tons. Unfortunately for someone who is allergic to crustacean, I had to give away my won tons to my companion. The staff was very apologetic over the incident because they forgot that I can’t eat crustacean. But they did make up for it later.

Combination of Prawn coated with Salted Egg Yolk, and Crispy Homemade Tofu, Mushrooms and Pumpkin in Bi Fong Tong Style
Followed next is the Combination of Prawn coated with Salted Egg Yolk, and Crispy Homemade Tofu, Mushrooms and Pumpkin in Bi Fong Tong Style. This time, the staff changed the prawn to roast pork belly. Without me having to say, the pork belly is heavenly. The dried tofu, mushrooms and pumpkin are equally good. They are crispy and not oily at all. I enjoy the dried pumpkin most because of its sweet interior.

Stewed Ee-Fu Noodles with Ma Po Tofu
But the most memorable dish has to be the Stewed Ee-Fu Noodles with Ma Po Tofu. The noodles is firm and full of flavour. For those diners who can tolerate a bit of spiciness, you will definitely love this. I love the generous amount of tofu. It’s so good that I actually requested that it be added into Cassia’s daily menu.

Chilled Snow Fungus, Lotus Seed with Vanilla Ice Cream
I also enjoyed the dessert thoroughly. The Chilled Snow Fungus, Lotus Seed with Vanilla Ice Cream has so many different textures. The chewy fungus, crunchy lotus seeds and soft vanilla ice cream come together nicely.
Some of you might feel that I’m biased. But Cassia is an excellent restaurant that never fails to impress. If you don’t believe me, go try it. At S$55 per person during the Restaurant Week dinner promotion, you have nothing to lose. Trust me, chances are you will be wowed by the quality food.
