Step into Panpuri Organic Spa is like entering a totally different world – serene and relaxed. The sweet aromatic scent that embraces the reception area puts you at ease immediately. The scent is so alluring that you know in your heart that you’re in for an indulgent spa experience.

Panpuri is a top-of-the-line Thai spa brand that specialises in organic aromatherapy and skincare products. Spa customers, who enjoyed the products, can purchase the same products in its retail outlet located just next door. However, I discovered that some of the products are not for sale and they are used solely in the spa.

After completing a health questionnaire, I was led into this simply yet beautifully decorated treatment room. I’ve been to many spas in Bangkok, both in upmarket hotels and shopping malls, but none of the spa designs is comparable to Panpuri. The entire area, from the reception area to the treatment room, has this understated elegance feel to it. You can tell that the brand’s target audience are people who appreciate the finer things in life.

For my most recent trip, I tried the 30-minute Panpuri Organic Body Scrub (THB1,000) and 60-minute Mali Moonlight Soothing Massage (THB2,100). For the scrub, I chose the milk scrub that is not available for sale and used only in the spa. The scrub is gentle and not harsh to the skin, which I thought is good for those with sensitive skin. Although it’s not as rough as compared to the regular sea salt scrub, it does the job. After 30 minutes, my skin is brighter and softer.

The Mali Moonlight Soothing Massage is one of Panpuri’s signature organic massages. The therapist uses long but firm strokes to relax the muscles. Unlike the other traditional and oil massages, this treatment is much relaxing. The gentle strokes are more suited for the spa virgins. For a spa junkie like me who prefers stronger pressure, it’s a bit too mild. Nevertheless, it was still an enjoyable and relaxing treatment.

Unfortunately, I was a tad disappointed after the treatment. I was hoping that they served better refreshments instead of a few pieces of dried fruits and tea. I wasn’t sure what was the dried fruit but they definitely didn’t taste good. Otherwise, the spa experience was excellent and I would definitely return when I’m back in Bangkok.
