Re-live childhood memories – Bianco Latte, Milan Italy

It was a cold November morning in 2009 when I discovered Bianco Latte, a café and restaurant located at via Turati, Milan. It was my second trip to Milan and was staying at the nearby Westin Palace hotel. Since I wasn’t able to check into my room, I asked the concierge where could I find a nice café and she pointed me to Bianco Latte. And that was a sound recommendation.

Over the years, Bianco Latte, or white milk in English, has expanded aggresively. It first started out as a café and restaurant, subsequently a retail store was established. And when I was back early November this year, the restaurant has doubled!

Love the calming and neutral interior

Decorated in neutral shades of beige and white, the cozy Bianco Latte reminds you of home. Everything just evokes the feeling of a lovely home down to the whimsical children drawings that don the walls.

Velvety Vegi Soup of the Day (Pumpkin Soup)

The food is generally good and affordable. I had the Velvety Vegi Soup of the Day, which is pumpkin soup. The soup, though may not be as velvety as it’s claimed, is smooth and has a nice consistency. I enjoyed it because it’s light and not overly seasoned. The soup comes with two slices of savory plum-cake. I don’t really like the carrots and zucchini savoury cake. I find them rather dry.

‘Le Milanesine Biancolatte’

The ‘Le Milanesine Biancolatte’, on the other hand, is something that both adults and children will like. The breaded bite-sized chicken fillet is so addictive that it’s gone before you notice it. The chicken fillet bites is juicy and tender. They taste even better with a dash of lemon juice. I didn’t even bother to touch the accompanied mayonnaise dip.

Fruits and Yogurt

Even though I’ve moved to stay at other hotels, the fond memories keep drawing me back to quaint café and restaurant every year. I have nothing but praises for this place.
