Resurrection of the Chinese Warriors – Above Clouds, Ren Zhe Asia Exhibition Tour 2013

Even before he reaches 30 years old, Chinese sculptor and artist, Ren Zhe, has already attained international acclaim with his large-than-life bronze and stainless steel sculptures. His works are exceptional and the sculptures often exude vitality and masculinity.

Ren Zhe, who was born in 1983, draws his inspiration from ancient Chinese history but injects his Gen Y’s interpretation. His warrior sculptures bear resemblance to the Qin’s terracotta warriors and yet they remain relevant in today’s pop culture. If you are familiar with Chinese manga, you can’t help but to see some of his works as characters in the popular Chinese manga, Feng Yun.

Despite all his achievements at a relatively young age, this Beijing native remains grounded and humble. During the opening ceremony, Ren Zhe was very obliging to pose for pictures with the collectors of his sculptures and fans. He was also gave away many autographed copies of his latest catalogue, Above Clouds.
