It’s abstract geometric shapes for Paul Smith Men’s Autumn/ Winter 2013 collection

I was not overly excited when I first saw Paul Smith Men’s current 2013 autumn/ winter collection. You see, I really love the previous two collections – 2012 autumn/ winter and 2013 spring/ summer. The jelly-fish and ocean inspired designs in the 2012 autumn/ winter collection was beautifully executed. And last season’s deconstructed rose collection was so powerful and strong that I bought most of the designs that were available in Singapore.

I, for one, am not a geometric shape person. The current collection probably appeals to men who appreciate minimalism art such as those by Dutch artist, Piet Mondrian, and American pop artist, Roy Lichtenstein. The focus for this season is on abstract geometric shapes and luxurious fabrics. While rich fabrics are good, they are just not practical in our hot humid climate.

Having said that, there is an interesting marble-print shirt that I really like (see picture). And the PS by Paul Smith Men’s 2013 autumn/ winter collection has some good stuff too. Guess my will to save money is not strong to withstand the urge of shopping.
